Chess

Students have the opportunity to learn and play chess in a supportive and engaging environment. Our champion chess team practices during lunches and after school to prepare for citywide competitions.

Debate

The debate team offers an opportunity to construct and deliver arguments in formal debates with peers from across the city, state and country. Debate sessions take place as an in-school class during advisory and Cerebral Diversity.

GSSA

GSSA club (Gender Sexuality Student Alliance), is a school-run organizations that unite LGBTQ+ and allied youth to build community and organize around issues impacting them in their schools and communities.

Friends Support Friends (FSF)

FSF is a safe space for kids to express their emotions, and talk about their feelings. Peers can support each other with conflict resolution. FSF would be part of planning school-wide events such as Respect for All Week and No One Eats Alone Day. The goal of FSF is to encourage the HPCMS students to make positive decisions and to have friends who you know will support you along your journey in middle school.
