Our Mission
At Hunter’s Point Community Middle School, our goal is to spark young minds through scholarship, creativity, and community. We believe that each young person has unique talents and perspectives that can be fully developed within a rigorous, inclusive, and equitable setting. We unequivocally support Black lives and the dismantling of all systems that propagate and empower systemic oppression against all marginalized people. Our students are consistently asked to collaborate, think critically, problem-solve, and develop a growth mindset to prepare for college, career, and active engagement in our democratic society.

Hunter’s Point Community Middle School is always seeking qualified and certified substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, and school aides. If you are interested in being nominated as a substitute, or if you already have a file number and would like to work with us, please contact rjordan10@schools.nyc.gov.
Openings for the 2026-2027 School Year:
Hunter’s Point Community Middle School is currently seeking certified Special Education teachers and General Education teachers in the following subject areas:
English Language Arts (ELA)
Mathematics
Science
Social Studies
We also strongly encourage applicants who are dually certified, including teachers certified in Special Education and/or Multilingual Learners (MLL/ENL).
If you are interested in joining our team, please complete the HPCMS Candidate Submission Form to share your resumé, a teaching artifact, and additional information. The form will also ask you to select a Candidate Night date (March 18th or April 22nd) so we can learn more about you in person.
