HPCMS Dress Code

Information on the School Dress Code:

Dear Families,

While the majority of our students are wearing the uniforms every day, we wanted to remind the whole community about our dress code and our related policies.  The following items will be expected as part of the Hunter’s Point Community Middle School Dress Code when students are in class and on field trips:

Top:

  • A solid Blue (any shade) short or long sleeve shirt with a collar or a solid blue blouse  or dress

  • A solid blue or black cardigan sweater or sports jacket can be work in cold weather or if the air conditioning is strong.  Long sleeve solid blue, black, or white shirts can also be worn under short sleeve shirts.

Bottom:

  • Solid Black, Navy Blue, or Khaki Pants, Capris, or Knee Length Shorts or Skirts

Not allowed:

  • t-shirts, heels or wedge shoes, flip flops, thin straps/halter shirts, bandanas, beads, hats, sweatshirts, clothes determined to be offensive or inappropriate (too short or tight, etc.)

Students will be expected to change before and after gym class into the following:

Top:

  • A solid color (any color, not just blue) t-shirt OR a shirt of a favorite sports team

Bottom:

  • gym shorts, sweat pants, yoga pants

Footwear

  • sneakers and socks  (Mr. Rosenberg, srosenberg@hunterspointcms.org,  welcomes donations of old sneakers for students that have forgotten their own sneakers)

Not allowed:

  • clothes determined to be offensive or inappropriate (too short or tight, etc.)

Students who come to school without their uniform will receive a phone call home and a warning.  The second time they will receive a demerit.  Thank you for your support!
